Jen Hegna - Bio

Jen Hegna is the information systems manager for Byron Public Schools in Byron, MN. She received her bachelor of science degree in business information systems through an online program from Bellevue University in Nebraska.

In 2008, Jen enrolled University of Wisconsin - Stout's Information and Communication Technologies - Master's of Science program (ICTMS) with an emphasis in E-Learning. By 2010, Jen will graduate and receive her ICTMS degree and an E-Learning and Online Teaching Certificate from UW Stout in hopes to enhance her career while providing new skills to conform to the imminent shift in the delivery of public education.

You may want to restrict access to this space so it keeps the professional portfolio concept front and center. Somewhere in the settings there's a way to turn off the self-enrollment feature. (I think...)

Since the nature of the Ning is to promote folks creating their own spaces, closing the door makes sense.

I've toyed with the idea of creating a Ning for the Certificate program. I've opted instead for an e-learning and online teaching group on Classroom 2.0. This places the group in a larger context of active web 2.0 using instructors. In other words....where the action is! ~ Den
